The people and places I've purchased to make my day.

Flowers - The Tangled Web (Jen Cahill)

This vendor was the hardest for me to find.  I met with 4 (one was awesome and outrageously expensive, one was mean and expensive, and one was cheap and eh).  Jen was the last one, and I think her ideas in combination with her prices make her pretty amazing.

Officiant - Elly Jackson

Ours will be an interfaith marriage and ceremony.  R is Jewish, I am Christian.  I didn't want to even try to find a minister and a rabbi who would both agree to marrying us with the other present.  I didn't want some naturey/earthy service that was absent of all things religious.  I also didn't want it to feel totally generic ('insert bride's name here' kind of deal).  Boston Magazine Weddings happened to run an article on Elly, who is technically a 'celebrant', in which she discussed her background, which includes her growing up in the Midwest (me too), moving to NYC (me too), and then to Boston (me too).  She grew up Catholic and then kind of became Jewish, though never converted officially.  So she is familiar with both of our religions.  She spent a lot of time talking about how she took traditions from religious ceremonies and incorporated them into her service.  So, there will be talk of God, but no Jesus or Moses or Israel, there will be a chuppah and some glass stomping and a unity candle, which should appease the masses.

Invitations - Blush Design Studio - received the final product and I love them.  Love.  They are perfect.  Exactly what I wanted, and she was awesome to work with.  It was fun actually helping design my invites.

Photographer - Perfectweddingphoto.com

I really liked his work, which helped me to get over the cheesy name of the company.  I judge.  His style is cool, and I think his personality will help me lighten up around the cameras because I pretty much hate having my picture taken.  And his prices are pretty reasonable, compared to others of his caliber.

Lighting - RCUplighting

Makeup - Makeup by Brea, apparently.  Originally booked Tada (Tara Vaccaro Gudmundsen), but she had a change of plans and asked me to swit to Brea.  That's fine.  Brea is supposed to be good.
Update 3.27.10 - so, now it's going to be Caitlin Murphy.  Ahh, drama.

Hair - Gina Joubert

Dress - Sabella Couture

I've raved about this place a bunch already, but the owner, Maria, is amazing.  It's a small boutique on Tremont in Boston, but is an incredibly friendly place, contrary to what the location might suggest.  The owner designs and sells her own gowns, but also carries a few lines, including Enzoani and Blue by Enzoani.  She carries only one line of bridesmaids dress, which is Love by Enzoani.  That is how I originally discovered her, as I wanted to look at that line of bridesmaids dresses.  And she was so nice to me, knowing I was only there to look. at bridesmaids dresses that I wouldn't be ordering from her.  I figured that meant something.  When I came back and tried on dresses, she sent a handwritten thank you note, which made me love her even more.
